A woman was found stabbed to death just inside the 10th Street gate of Piedmont Park just after 1 a.m. on July 28.
According to Atlanta Police, the woman was stabbed multiple times in what Deputy Chief Charles Hampton described to the media as a “gruesome” attack.
Police have not released the woman’s identity, but said she appeared to be in her early 40s. Why she was in the park or a motive for her murder is unknown, but homicide detectives are hoping that surveillance footage from homes surrounding the Midtown park will help them retrace her steps.
Anyone who might have information is encouraged to call APD’s criminal investigation devision (404) 546-4236.
