Westside Paper in Atlanta Announces First Restaurant Leases

Westside Paper, the adaptive reuse of a more than 70-year-old industrial campus by Third & Urban and FCP®, is bringing four trailblazing restaurants to West Midtown when the project opens next year.

Located at 950 West Marietta Street, across from the King Plow Arts Center and adjacent to Puritan Mill, Westside Paper is a 15-plus acre mixed-use campus with a historic feel located between Westside Provisions District and the recently opened Westside Park. The joint-venture partnership is developing a 245,000-square-foot mixed-use project primarily focused on the adaptive reuse of the 1950s warehouse with new construction elements.

Westside Paper is targeting companies looking for large floorplate creative reuse office space in West Midtown while also building a unique retail destination.

Having great restaurants sets the tone for Westside Paper and the environment we are creating,” said Chris Faussemagne, Partner, Third & Urban. With all of Third & Urban’s projects, we understand the importance of building retail destinations with local operators who value community at both the project and also for the surrounding neighborhood.”

Pancake Social will open its second Atlanta location at Westside Paper in late spring 2022. The concept originates from Dan Jacobson, formerly of Chick-Fil-A, entrepreneur Steven Chan and Tony Riffel, co-founder of Octane Coffee. The all-day brunch-focused eatery and coffeehouse celebrates the joy of pancakes and more. Featuring high-quality breakfast favorites, the menu will also include outstanding sandwiches, healthy bowls, fresh juices, specialty coffees, and brunch cocktails. The first Pancake Social opened in Ponce City Market in March 2019.

Atlanta native Rob Birdsong opened Glide Pizza on the Atlanta Beltline in 2020. A former freelance creative, he spent a decade in New York living off Brooklyn slices. He has combined the convenience and approachable cost of street food with premium ingredients and artisan techniques. Westside Paper will be Glide Pizzas third location.

Girl Diver is the Asian seafood restaurant from Richard Tang, who also opened Char Korean Bar & Grill in Atlanta in 2016. Girl Diver features Chinese-Vietnamese seafood dishes and comfort foods. The name refers, in part, to the nearly 2,000-year-old tradition of Japanese and Korean women divers known as ama and haenyeo (sea woman) who collect pearls, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and abalone from the bottom of the ocean. It will be the second location of Girl Diver.

With locations in Charleston, Chicago and Charlotte, Westside Paper will be the first Boxcar Bettys in Atlanta. The award-winning fried chicken sandwich restaurant serves new takes on southern classics such as fried pickles and sweet potato fries. Boxcar Betty’s serves regionally sourced antibiotic, cage free chicken.

Bridger Properties is responsible for the leasing transactions of the four restaurant tenants and continues to lead the retail and restaurant leasing efforts at Westside Paper. The team seeks a highly curated mix of destination style shopping, dining and entertainment venues, that represent both local and regional talent.

Were thrilled to be part of Westside Paper and the quality of this first round of tenants is a testament to what will be one of most dynamic projects on the Westside,” Merritt Lancaster, Partner at Bridger Properties.

Within walking distance of the core West Midtown submarket and near some of Atlantas first adaptive reuse projects, which were developed more than twenty years ago, Westside Paper is anticipating first phase delivery in the second quarter of 2022.
