Smith & Howard is pleased to announce that Karl Briem, CPA has been named a Principal in the firm. Karl, who joined the firm as a Manager in 2014, serves clients in wide variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing and distribution, oil and gas, professional services, staffing and technology.
“Karl’s broad experience and deep knowledge of so many industries adds great value to our clients. As the leader of the Assurance practice quality control program, Karl provides additional critical insights and value to us internally,” said Sean Spitzer, Smith & Howard’s Assurance Practice Leader.
Karl, who leads numerous internal and external training, earned a Master of Professional Accountancy from Georgia State University, a Master of Science in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University. A member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Karl serves on the board of Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, currently serving as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
