Second Helpings Atlanta Names Jessica Hedden Development Manager

Second Helpings Atlanta welcomes Jessica Hedden to the position of development manager. Hedden comes to Second Helpings Atlanta with a long history of strategic planning and implementation, donor engagement and project management experience.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to the team” said Andrea Jaron, executive director of Second Helpings Atlanta. “Her deep knowledge of fundraising will help us continue to drive out hunger.”

Hedden was most recently engagement manager at Wellroot Family Services, where she cultivated its donor program, raising $2.3 million to support the organization’s programs. Previously, she held positions at Emory University’s James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies where she further developed the alumni engagement program. Prior to that, she was the assistant director of alumni and development services at Emory School of Medicine.

Second Helpings Atlanta has seen a major spike in need throughout the pandemic. The organization rescues more than 322,000 pounds of surplus fresh, perishable food every month from 75+ food donors and delivers it to more than 70 homeless shelters, food pantries, domestic violence shelters and other nonprofits across the Atlanta metropolitan area.
