Saxbys to Open New Student-Run, Experiential Learning Café on the Atlanta Campus

A new café will open this fall in the University Library entry by the greenway. The Saxbys Experiential Learning Platform (The Saxbys E.L.P.) café will be operated by Georgia State students and provide new entrepreneurial opportunities on campus.

The café will be managed by a student CEO, and they will be either an Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Administration or Management student from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Saxbys launched The Saxbys E.L.P. in 2015 and today there are 19 E.L.P. cafés, all of which are operated by students. The Georgia State location is the first in the Southeast.

“This partnership and the opening of this new student-run café aligns with the Beyond College to Career pillar of our new Strategic Plan,” said Georgia State President M. Brian Blake. “We’re excited to create new experiential learning and career opportunities for our students while also bringing a new dining option to our Atlanta Campus.”

Saxbys has trained and mentored more than 130 student CEOs, and team members get access to paid, on-campus business leadership internships, professional mentorship and free corporate-micro credentials.

“As we expand our footprint into new markets, we are looking to partner with institutions that share our core emphasis on empowering students of all backgrounds through experiential learning,” said Nick Bayer, founder & CEO of Saxbys. “GSU is a thriving, diverse community that fosters belonging, drives student success and prepares career-ready graduates. This same vision is at the heart of Saxbys’ mission as an education and opportunity company.”

All Georgia State students are encouraged to apply as team members. For more information, including how to apply, visit hellosaxbys.com.
