Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols To Deliver Keynote Address at the Experience Power Conference

Commissioner Tim Echols will deliver the keynote address at the Experience POWER Conference taking place in Savannah, Georgia on August 14-17, 2023. Echols delivers his remarks on Tuesday August 15, 2023 at 4:20pm at the Savannah Convention Center, One International Drive, Savannah, Georgia.

Echols will highlight the seven trends he sees happening in the energy world today.  Those trends include Advanced Nuclear energy, utility-scale solar, Sustainability, electric vehicles, managed charging of EVs, grid-tied batteries, and hydrogen.

“Our job at the Public Service Commission is to make sure Georgia’s grid is ready for load-growth,” said Echols. “Plant Vogtle and the other resources we have approved will make sure that happens

Echols said that because of companies like Hyundai, Rivian, SK Innovations and many others, Georgia has a need for over two gigawatts of power over the next seven years.

“Building or securing the amount of power we need requires planning,” said Echols. “Our Commission works to diversify our power grid to make sure we have what we need to keep businesses coming to Georgia.”

Echols is widely known as a clean energy expert for having owned six electric vehicles; installing solar on his home; and creating educational opportunities for consumers and businesses throughout the state.
