Jack E. Waters of Midway, Georgia was recently reelected to the Georgia Transmission Corp. Board of Directors. In addition, he serves as Coastal Electric Cooperative’s president of the board.
During Waters’ most recent three-year term, Georgia Transmission:

Completed 280 capital projects, including the addition of more than 55.8 miles of transmission lines and the construction of 24 new substations;

Consistently improved reliability and achieved record low numbers for both the frequency and duration of power outages;

Set a new all-time peak of 9,459 MW on Aug.13, 2019;
-
Continued monitoring developments — and making investments — in cybersecurity tools, training and protocols; and
-
In 2021, incurred no environmental violations and no lost-time incidents for the eighth consecutive year.

Waters was elected to serve a three-year term by the members of Georgia Transmission at their annual meeting. Other directors elected at the meeting this year include: Charles Fendley (Amicalola EMC), Tony Tucker (Mitchell EMC) and Ronnie Lee (Walton EMC).
