Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has enhanced its legal offering in Atlanta with the addition of Robert W. Kamerschenas a shareholder.
Kamerschen joins the firm from Aaron’s, Inc. where he served as executive vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief corporate affairs officer. Aaron’s, Inc. is the nation’s leading omnichannel specialty retailer with over $3 billion in annual revenue. Kamerschen managed many aspects of legal, compliance, government relations, external affairs, security, information security, risk management, charitable giving, and corporate governance for Aaron’s.

Kamerschen has wide-ranging experience handling matters relating to government investigations, employment law, privacy, regulatory, intellectual property, litigation, financings, acquisitions, and corporate matters. He will also be a member of the firm’s award-winning retail industry group, a Chambers & Partners Band 1-ranked practice.

Prior to joining Aaron’s, Kamerschen served as United States general counsel, senior vice president of government affairs & chief compliance officer at Equifax. Earlier in his career, he served in an executive position at ChoicePoint and as general counsel of EzGov.
Kamerschen worked on Capitol Hill before attending law school as deputy press secretary for U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (AL) and played minor league baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Kamerschen is a graduate of Stanford University and an honors graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law.
