With community safety considered a top of mind issue for many, Georgia Power recently provided a $5,000 donation to the Midtown Alliance’s public safety officer’s crisis intervention training.
The training programs focuses on pre-arrest options in an effort to enhance policing strategies in the midst of an uptick in crime in the area. The objective of this program is to support a collective community approach to public safety, which includes collaborative efforts to de-escalate and empower the community with constructive alternatives in applicable situations.
Since its founding in 1978, the Midtown Alliance has been a non-profit membership organization and a coalition of leading business and community leaders dedicated to making Midtown Atlanta a premiere destination for living, education, culture, and commerce. Governed by a 71-member board of the district’s top private sector leaders, their mission is to improve and sustain the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in Midtown. This is done through a comprehensive approach that includes enhanced public safety, physical environment improvement, and the strengthening of urban amenities.
