The Safe Driving Summit will take place at Cherokee Bluff High School in Flowery Branch, GA on Wednesday, August 30, 2023
WHAT: The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) and the Lutzie 43 Foundation will host the first Safe Driving Summit of the 2023-24 academic year at Cherokee Bluff High School in Hall County as a continuation of the initiative to educate young drivers about the dangers of distracted, impaired and unsafe driving behaviors. An all-school assembly will kick off the Safe Driving Summit with a keynote presentation where by representatives from Georgia DOT and the Lutzie 43 Foundation.
Students will hear from industry experts about how they can protect themselves and others on the road by practicing safe behaviors while traveling in a vehicle as a driver or passenger. A keynote presentation will be provided by those who have real life stories of heartache and determination to share with audience participants and then the students will rotate through the breakout sessions led by safe driving experts and others including:

Media are invited to attend the Safe Driving Summit and will have opportunities to interview subject matter experts from Georgia DOT, the Lutzie 43 Foundation, and breakout session presenters about the importance of driving safely and the significance of the Safe Driving Summits.
