Croy Promotes Aimee Turner to Traffic Department Leader

Georgia-based, full-service consulting firm Croy Engineering announced the promotion of Aimee S. Turner, PE, PTOE, IMSA TS II to Traffic Department Manager. Based at the firm’s Marietta headquarters, Turner will work to expand Croy’s traffic engineering department into new markets, while continuing to serve current municipal, private, and CID clients across the Southeast.

“Over her time with Croy, Aimee has proven to be a diligent and dedicated engineer who consistently produces quality work, delivers excellent client service, and shares innovative ideas that have gained new clients and projects for our firm,” said James “Jim” M. Croy, Sr., PE, Founder and CEO of Croy. “In addition, she embodies one of our most important values – a commitment to serving and bettering local communities through volunteering with non-profits.”

Turner’s experience spans the safety operations, traffic engineering, and transportation planning fields. A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Turner is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple Southeastern states, Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, and IMSA Traffic Signal Technical (Level II). Over the course of her career, she has contributed to the completion of more than 60 traffic studies and a dozen transportation planning studies.

Most recently, Turner was instrumental in helping Croy land an access management study for State Route 21 with the Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission, as well as efforts to complete a traffic flow and simulation study for the City of College Park’s newly constructed SkyTrain Way adjacent to the ATL Airport’s West Parking deck. She is currently serving as a key team lead for the on-going Bells Ferry Road Operational Study for the Town Center Community Improvement District, where she recently led the firm’s first-ever hybrid (in-person and virtual) Road Safety Audit.

“This is an exciting role for Aimee to continue to develop her professional growth, expand her network, and produce the high-caliber deliverables our clients have come to expect,” said Dan Dobry, PE, PTOE, AICP, who serves as the Planning Department Head for Croy and has worked closely with Turner since she joined Croy. “I have watched Aimee grow into an exceptional engineer and leader who has used her experience to mentor new hires – serving as a testament to her character and commitment to invest in both the communities where she works and the people who she works alongside.”

An advocate for community service and civic engagement, Turner serves as the Vice Chair for the Atlanta Local Advisory Board of Jumpstart Atlanta. In addition, she co-founded Engineering for Success, Inc. (E4S), a non-profit that facilitates opportunities for high school students to make real-word connections between their STEM coursework and the world around them through workshops, field trips, and job shadowing. For the past two years, Turner has also actively participated in ACEC Georgia’s “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day,” which is hosted annually for middle and high school students at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus.

“I am excited for this new opportunity to lead our traffic engineering group and continue working with our local and regional clients to deliver safety and operations projects that improve the quality of life for travelers of all modes of transportation,” said Turner.

In addition to her non-profit contributions, Turner actively participates in several engineering associations, including ACEC Georgia, ASHE Georgia, Georgia ITE, and WTS Atlanta. For the past two consecutive years, she has been named to the “50 Women in the Know” list by Engineering Georgia magazine. She is also a graduate of Georgia ITE’s Leadership Program and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s Next Generation Mentoring Program.
