American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) is thrilled to welcome American Express as its newest member and its President of Merchant Services – U.S., Colleen Taylor, to the board of directors.
Taylor joined the American Express team in September 2020 and brings with her more than 30 years of experience in banking, merchant and B2B industries. Prior to American Express, she served as the executive vice president of merchant services at both Wells Fargo and Mastercard, respectively. Taylor has also held leadership positions at Capital One, Wachovia Bank and JPMorgan Chase.
“Adding another “big Brand” powerhouse like American Express to our organization ensures we continue to hear from all phases of the payments processing ecosystem,” saidATPC Executive Director H. West Richards. “Colleen’s expertise in the payments industry, government relations, financial management, strategy and leadership are enormous assets to ATPC and our other member companies. Having her and American Express as part of the organization will give us additional backing and visibility to our cause of protecting the interests of America’s payments industry, which is vital to successful commerce and global payments.”
Taylor received her B.A. in Economics at Spelman College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees, and her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She was named one of PaymentSource’s Most Influential Women in Payments in 2015, 2016 and 2019.
ATPC recently held its second quarterly board meeting in Miami, Florida, where they appointed Taylor to the board and also elected Elavon CEO Jamie Walker as the board’s new chairman.
