Hundreds of neighbors, members and potential members joined Center Parc Credit Union for a block party celebrating the grand opening of its Georgia Avenue location Saturday.
“We couldn’t have been more pleased with this weekend’s turnout,” said Val Hill, branch manager at Center Parc’s Georgia Avenue location. “It’s our mission to become an integral part of the Summerhill community – and we were so happy to have our new neighbors welcome us with open arms Saturday.”
Summerhill residents and Center Parc members strolled around Georgia Avenue from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the new branch. A D.J. played up-beat music while small businesses along the strip – including Hero Doughnuts & Buns, How Crispy, Hot Dog Pete’s, Big Softie, Wood’s Chapel BBQ and Maepole – offered food and beverages compliments of Center Parc.
Georgia State University, a key collaborator of Center Parc and an important member of the Summerhill community, sent representatives including GSU Panther Football cheerleaders and beloved mascot Pounce to interact and take pictures with attendees.
Throughout the day, Center Parc awarded more than $1,000 worth of prizes through a raffle featuring local products and services. Representatives also answered attendee’s questions about the credit union.
“In fact, we met quite a few members and potential members who expressed excitement about our new location in the area,” Hill said. “They seemed to really embrace our community-oriented mission; and we are excited to welcome them aboard. We look forward to becoming the go-to financial institution for the Summerhill area.”
Center Parc’s new location at 72 Georgia Avenue, just down the street from Center Parc Stadium, joins the credit union’s three other branches in downtown Atlanta, Savannah and Pooler, Ga. Visit Center Parc online for more information and to join.
