Relatient Appoints Four New Members to Customer Advisory Board, Expands by Two Seats

Relatient, the leading patient scheduling platform, is expanding its Customer Advisory Board (CAB) following the group’s successful, inaugural year. In response to increased interest in intelligent scheduling and patient access solutions across healthcare specialties, the organization is adding two seats and four new CAB members.

The addition of these members, representing diverse specialty organizations, underscores Relatient’s commitment to maintaining a leading edge in patient scheduling:

Since it was organized in 2023, Relatient’s CAB has provided the organization with invaluable insights into operational gaps and opportunities aligned with patient and provider needs. The Board’s strategic input on the importance of self-service tools guided recent enhancements to Relatient’s award-winning self-scheduling solution, Dash Self.

“You don’t become the best by operating in a silo,” said Jeff Gartland, CEO of Relatient. “Customer voices are integral to Relatient’s mission of improving access to care through intelligent, innovative solutions. We welcome these accomplished professionals to our CAB and look forward to continued collaboration in leading the market with innovative solutions that improve access to care.”

New members will join an already distinguished group of leaders, including Andrew Wade, Chief Executive Officer at OrthoSC; Erika Noll, Chief Operating Officer at Peachtree Orthopedics; Jalal Shawwa, VP of Consumer and Patient Experience & Contact Center Operations at Ascension; Jeff Goldberg, Chief Operations Officer at Resurgens Orthopaedics; Jeff McPherson, MBA, FACMPE, Market President – East TN at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance; Laura Dalton, DO, MBA, Chief Medical Operating Officer at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte; and Kimble Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer at OrthoSouth.

The CAB will regularly convene via virtual and in-person meetings throughout the year. Relatient will draw on the Board’s experiences and expertise to improve operational excellence and inform future innovation as the organization expands its footprint in more areas of specialty healthcare.

“Patient access will continue to play a key role in digital transformation for healthcare organizations, no matter what their specialty,” said Tanner Sloan, COO of Texas Orthopedics. “It’s exciting to work with a partner like Relatient who not only recognizes this, but also proactively seeks the feedback of its customers to continue to remain relevant in a quickly changing market. I’m grateful for the opportunity to sit on the CAB and help improve Relatient’s offerings, which will make a difference at Texas Orthopedics, and at healthcare organizations throughout the country.”

Eleven Gwinnett Chamber Foundation Cohort Members Achieve MBE or WOSB Certification in Record Time

The Gwinnett Chamber Foundation announces that 11 small businesses in its inaugural certification cohort have achieved full Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification through the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council. This significant milestone was reached in 60 days, a process that typically takes three to six months.

Newly certified members of the cohort include:

  • Armor Industrial Services
  • BGMart Construction
  • Carter Construction Partners Inc.
  • Empire Contracting, LLC
  • Lead with Coach Jeimy, LLC
  • LPZ Construction LLC
  • Pampa Bay Landscape
  • Simply HR Inc.
  • The Edge Agency
  • Wandaful Herbs
  • Westbridge Solutions, LLC

The expedited success of these minority-owned businesses is a direct result of the Gwinnett Chamber Foundation’s targeted support, strategic marketing efforts, and comprehensive resources. By providing individualized coaching and guidance, the Foundation’s team ensured the businesses crafted relevant messaging and had the essential translation services to complete requirements on time and with excellence. This collaborative effort was made possible through a technical assistance grant from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and JPMorgan Chase.

“We are committed to empowering minority, veteran, and women-owned businesses with the resources they need to succeed,” said Deirdra Cox, Executive Director of the Gwinnett Chamber Foundation. “Achieving these certifications in just 60 days is a testament to the dedication of our team and the businesses in our cohort. This accomplishment aligns perfectly with our mission and highlights the importance of tailored support in navigating complex certification processes.”

Nick Masino, President & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber, added, “The success of this cohort underscores the impact of targeted assistance and strategic partnerships. By achieving MBE or WOSB certification in record time, these businesses are now better positioned to compete in the marketplace, further contributing to the economic vitality of our community.”

This achievement reflects the Gwinnett Chamber Foundation’s commitment to fostering minority-owned business success and sets a new standard for what can be accomplished through focused collaboration and expert guidance. As the Gwinnett Chamber Foundation continues its mission to empower minority businesses, it will host its second annual Celebrity Softball Showdown event to raise funds for this cause. Purchase your tickets and support minority, veteran, and women-owned small businesses in Gwinnett, today.

Georgia Ports Celebrates Truck Drivers

The Georgia Ports Authority is celebrating its front-line customers in the motor carrier industry during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

“Our partners in the trucking industry are a critical link between our global vessel services and the domestic supply chain,” said GPA President and CEO Griff Lynch. “At Georgia Ports, every week is trucker appreciation week.”

To acknowledge drivers’ contributions, GPA employees will hand out safety gloves, bottles of water and chicken sandwiches at the terminal truck gates Thursday.

Lynch said GPA works daily to ensure a positive trucker experience, noting that gate and yard efficiency at the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal help drivers complete more container moves each day.

It takes only 8 minutes, 12 seconds on average for a driver entering the terminal to go from the biometric reading station, complete the check-in process and depart the gate canopy. The Port of Savannah achieved total truck turn times across July and August of only 34 minutes for a single-container move and 54 minutes for truckers delivering an export and picking up an import container.

Approximately 80 percent of truck transactions at the Port of Savannah involve such double moves, compared to only 30 percent at major West Coast ports.

“Savannah’s ability to quickly handle these dual transactions reduces the number of truck trips required to move the same cargo, avoids diesel emissions and allows drivers to be more profitable by handling more containers per day,” Lynch said. “Drivers in Savannah can make up to eight truck turns per day, compared to two per day at Southern California terminals.”

Garden City Terminal averages approximately 14,000 truck moves each weekday, or around 7,000 trucks in, 7,000 trucks out, according to the most recent figures from the Georgia Ports Authority.

Lynch said truck turn times at the Port of Savannah are among the fastest of any major port.

“Our 1,500-acre single-terminal model in Savannah means drivers do not have to go through multiple gate transactions when handling cargo from two different shipping lines,” Lynch said.

Georgia is investing both on- and off-terminal to accommodate the free flow of cargo.

“Whether it’s across the terminal or across the state, Georgia Ports provides the infrastructure and customer service necessary to ensure freight moves safely and without congestion,” said GPA Board Chairman Kent Fountain. “The Peach State understands the importance of a reliable logistics network.”

Habitat for Humanity – North Central Georgia Partners with Atlanta Home Theater for Technology Upgrade

Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia (Habitat-NCG) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Roswell based business, Atlanta Home Theater; industry pioneers in custom electronics integration.  This collaboration has already made a significant impact on Habitat-NCG’s operations with a generous donation of cutting-edge technology. In September, Atlanta Home Theater donated and installed a much-needed 85-inch big screen TV in Habitat-NCG’s conference room, dramatically improving the organization’s meeting capabilities. Katherine Ortwerth, Director of Philanthropy at Habitat-NCG, expressed her gratitude: “Our conference room was previously inadequate for accommodating more than a few team members at a time, and the lack of technology hindered our operations. This upgrade will significantly enhance our capacity for collaboration and effective communication, we are so grateful for AHT and what they have provided our organization.”

Alex Evans, owner of Atlanta Home Theater, remarked on the partnership: “We are genuinely pleased to contribute to our local community. Our commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission allows us to leverage our expertise in a way that supports those who serve others. We are excited to embark on this partnership with Habitat for Humanity – NCG and look forward to assisting our neighbors in achieving homeownership. This partnership aligns perfectly with Habitat-NCG’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope”.

Habitat – NCG has been serving North Fulton, Cherokee, Forsyth, and Dawson counties for years, providing affordable housing solutions to families in need. “Atlanta Home Theater’s contribution will significantly improve Habitat-NCG’s operational efficiency, allowing the organization to better serve its community. This partnership exemplifies the power of local businesses supporting nonprofit organizations to create a stronger, more connected community and we look forward to a continued partnership” added Ortwerth.
