AT&T and Human I-T provided Paulding Family Connection with 50 refurbished laptops to distribute to Paulding County students and families.
The computers, funded by an AT&T contribution, were given to Paulding County youth and families that Paulding Family Connection serves to help close the digital divide.
Paulding Family Connection is a community of partnerships with a common goal of addressing the challenges facing Paulding County’s children and families. The organization provides services and resources that enhance school readiness and success, develop self-sufficient families and build strong communities.
“At Paulding Family Connection, we work every day to create bright futures for Paulding County youth and families. We are grateful for AT&T’s donation of laptops for our youth. These laptops will play a pivotal role in helping our youth and families with academic success and school and career readiness,” saidMichele Craig, Program Coordinator, Paulding Family Connection. “These devices will not only support educational achievement but also strengthen the communities we serve by empowering families to access vital resources and opportunities. We appreciate AT&T’s continued commitment to helping close the digital divide and supporting Paulding County communities.”
“In today’s world, access to reliable technology is essential in how our youth learn and develop essential digital skills. AT&T’s donation of digital devices will make a lasting impact for the youth and families we serve, providing them with the tools needed to thrive today and in the future,” said Linda Verscharen, Chair, Paulding Family Connection. “We are grateful for AT&T’s continued investment in Paulding County and for their commitment to helping build stronger, more connected communities.”
“The Paulding County School District recognizes the critical importance of students having access to the technology resources they need, which is why we implemented our 1-to-1 technology initiative. Building on this commitment, the school district is excited to support Paulding Family Connection and AT&T in their efforts to provide additional laptop computers to students who may not have the financial means to obtain one for use beyond their K-12 education,” said Steve Barnette, Superintendent, Paulding County School District. “We especially want to recognize Michele Craig and the entire team at Paulding Family Connection for their vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication to improving the lives of students and families in our community. Their partnership with AT&T on this initiative demonstrates how collaboration can help support student growth and academic achievement.”
This effort is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
“AT&T is committed to helping close the digital divide, and we are proud to support the Paulding County community collaborating with Paulding Family Connection to provide laptops and digital resources to local youth and families,” said Colin Martin, Regional Director of External Affairs, AT&T Georgia. “Through this collaboration, we are creating pathways of success for youth and connecting more Georgians to greater possibility.”
