Art on the Atlanta BeltLine Announces Selected Artists for 2021-2022 Exhibition

Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) has notified artists of their selection to participate in the 2021-2022 Art on the Atlanta BeltLine exhibition. As part of ABI’s larger arts and culture programming, Art on the Atlanta BeltLine brings together artists across all mediums to participate in the largest, temporary outdoor art exhibition in the south. Since 2010, the annual exhibition has celebrated the arts in the fabric of the city’s unique and historical neighborhoods.

Visual artists, performers, musicians, art historians and art professionals are invited to activate the corridor through a variety of disciplines: BeltLine Walls Volume 4 (murals), BeltLine Spaces (sculptures), BeltLine Flow (performance series), and other special projects and guest exhibitions. Art on the Atlanta BeltLine is also in its third year of the residency program, the first of its kind in the City of Atlanta. The complete list of selected artists is below.

Art on the Atlanta BeltLine is an integral part of Atlanta’s arts and culture scene, ensuring accessibility for everyone and a wide representation of artists from across the city, nation, and world,” said Clyde Higgs, President and CEO of ABI.

“For more than a decade, the City of Atlanta has supported Art on the Atlanta BeltLine exhibit and its important contributions to artists and public art and public spaces in the City,” said Camille Russell Love, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.

The Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade, created by and featuring Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons, is postponed for fall 2021 due to developments around Covid and the Delta variant. It is tentatively planned for spring 2022, pending further Covid developments.

The call for artists opens in the first quarter of each year. In 2021, the application period closed on May 28. Submissions were reviewed by ABI’s arts and culture staff, theBeltLine Public Art Advisory Council (BPAAC), and opened for community feedback.
