October Lunch and Learn Onsite Presentation, “Regina Rambo Benson: Marietta’s Lady of Firsts”

The Georgia Archives’ October Lunch and Learn presentation, “Regina Rambo Benson: Marietta’s Lady of Firsts, by Christa McCay, Marietta History Center’s Collections Manager, will be held onsite. The presentation is on Friday, October 14, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia Archives, 5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, Ga. 
 
The Lunch and Learn presentation is free, and no registration is required. 
 
McCay will discuss the life of Regina Rambo Benson, who grew up in Marietta, Georgia. Benson was an early supporter of women’s equality and was the only woman to drive a car in the 1910 Good Roads Tour. She ran for political office during the 1930s, when few women did. Come and learn about a true legend and an inspiration to many! 
 
McCay holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master’s Degree in Heritage Preservation with an emphasis in Public History from Georgia State University. She oversees the legal documentation, storage maintenance, artifact preservation, and data entry for the Museum’s collection of over 60,000 artifacts. She is the Georgia State Representative for the Southeastern Registrars Association. McCay has presented at state, regional, and national conferences about her work with the collection.
