Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP, announces the addition of seven attorneys, which marks the arrival of 21 new attorneys announced by the firm in 2022. Joining in Atlanta are Jeffrey S. Adams, Kyle A. Ference, Nathan K. Hofman, Mark A. Kerr, Lisa S. Northrop and Blake E. Williams. Logan D.L. Manthey joins the firm’s Birmingham office.

Jeffrey S. Adams brings eight years of experience to the firm’s litigation team in Atlanta. He defends transportation and trucking companies, technology companies, insurers and individuals in claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, negligent hiring, negligent security, negligent construction and installation and products liability. Adams was included in Best Lawyers in America’s Ones to Watch list in 2021 and 2022 for the categories of Mass Tort Litigation /Class Actions, Personal Injury Litigation, Product Liability Litigation and Transportation Law. He earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from the Emory University School of Law.
Kyle A. Ference brings eight years of experience to the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation team in Atlanta. He previously represented businesses and insurers in liability defense and coverage matters, including complex, high-exposure liability cases related to automotive, premises, trucking and transportation and other general liability matters. After earning his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, Ference began his legal career as a staff attorney for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit in north Georgia.
Nathan K. Hofman brings six years of experience to the firm’s litigation team in Atlanta. He represents clients in a range of civil litigation matters, including premises liability, automobility and trucking liability, professional liability and litigation related to restrictive covenants and property disputes. Hofman previously served as a judicial intern with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago. He earned his undergraduate degree from Saint John’s University and his law degree from Marquette University Law School.
Mark A. Kerr brings five years of experience to the firm’s litigation team in Atlanta. He defends businesses and insurers in litigation and mediation proceedings with a focus on claims related to premises liability, automobile, trucking and transportation liability. Kerr began his career as a criminal defense attorney representing individuals throughout the Metro Atlanta area charged with various criminal offenses ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Kerr then transitioned to defending individuals and businesses in general litigation matters. He earned his undergraduate degree from Howard University and his law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law.
Logan D.L. Manthey brings seven years of experience to the firm’s coverage and commercial litigation team in Birmingham and represents businesses and insurers in all aspects of claims ranging from premises liability, negligence, automobile liability, personal injury and other high-stakes matters. He previously served as a legal intern at the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office and for the Honorable L. Scott Coogler with the Federal District Court for the Northern District Court of Alabama. Manthey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and has been named a Super Lawyer Rising Star since 2020 and
Lisa S. Northrop joins the firm’s litigation team in Atlanta, where she represents insurance companies in automobile litigation. She returns to Swift Currie after beginning her legal career as a workers’ compensation defense paralegal between 2013 and 2016. Northrop earned her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.
Blake E. Williams brings five years of experience to the firm’s litigation team in Atlanta. He defends businesses and insurers in general litigation matters, including premises liability, products liability and automobile, trucking and transportation liability. Williams earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business and a law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law. He is a member of the Gate City Bar Association, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and serves as a Board Member at Large for the Atlanta Bar Association – Litigation Section.
