Kick Off Summer in July at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, Home of Aurora Theatre

This summer the Lawrenceville Arts Center, home of Aurora Theatre, is bringing laughs, love, and . . . Christmas? Christmas Canteen in July is back for a night of summertime holiday cheer. This month is also jam-packed with laughs as Aurora Comedy Nights presents Rob Cleveland, while Dad’s Garage is partnering with Urban Clinic for a Dose of Comedy. Curious theatergoers can also join Aurora for Explore LAC, a backstage tour revealing all of the magic of theater and the inner workings of the fantastic, new facility. There will be opportunities to travel the world without leaving the city through the Global Market Festival, offering attendees a chance to experience the many cultures that call Lawrenceville home. July will also kick-off Aurora Theatre’s 27th season with events celebrating the classic Disney musical Mary Poppins which will take over the Lawrenceville Arts Center in August. Tickets will go on sale and a special “Mary Poppins” movie night will prepare audiences for the return of the world’s favorite nanny to the Aurora stage.

AURORA THEATRE PRESENTS

Tickets starting at $15
LAC Courtyard

Christmas only comes once a year… and that is simply not enough. Aurora Theatre is hauling out the holly for a summertime sprinkle of holiday magic. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs and kick back for an evening of fun al fresco. Just like the wintertime version, this show has humor, heart and spectacular music. Christmas Canteen (in July) has Aurora Theatre more excited than a child trying to fall asleep on Christmas Eve.

COMEDY

Aurora Comedy Nights: Rob Cleveland
Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.
Standard Tickets $20
Morgan Cabaret

Audiences love Rob as an actor from his many appearances on stage at Aurora (I’m Not Rappaport, The Bridges of Madison County and more), but before he was one of Atlanta’s busiest actors, he was one of the hardest-working comics on the national circuit. Rob is a brilliant observational comedian who finds the silly in those everyday things we tend to gloss over.

Dose of Comedy: Dad’s Garage

5 p.m. – Family Show
8 p.m. – Mature Audience
Tickets are FREE
Metro Waterproofing Mainstage

If laughter is the best medicine, consider Dad’s Garage your doctor. Aurora will host a night of comedy and laughs featuring entertaining stories from champions of the community and leave audiences feeling better than when they arrived!
Dad’s Garage Theatre is proud to partner with The Urban Clinic of Atlanta. The Urban Clinic will be providing free vaccinations, information about vaccines and $50 gift cards for every dose taken.

This free event is fun for the whole family.
