Parkland Communities, a privately-owned multifaceted real estate development and investment firm in Atlanta, continues to experience strong lot and land sales in 2020, even amidst the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Parkland Communities recently completed several large transactions, including ones with Crawford Creek Communities, DR Horton and Forestar Group, Inc.
“As pending new home sales set records each month, home builders continue to look for lots and land to feed the home building pipeline,” Parkland Communities President Jim Jacobi said. “We take pride in creating aesthetically planned and value engineered communities that create a quality lifestyle for all residents.”
Atlanta new home pending sales are up 15% year over year according to data from John Hunt at MarketNsight. In fact, July sales were stronger than June sales in metro Atlanta.
“Strong pending new home sales are fueling the need for home builders to secure additional lots and land to stay ahead of demand for new homes,” Jacobi said.
Parkland Communities sold Crestview at Towne Lake, a 59-townhome development to Crawford Creek Communities. This community is comprised of 7.5 acres and located in Acworth, Georgia within the Etowah High School district – the best high school in Cherokee County.
Additionally, Parkland Communities sold two communities in Dacula, Georgia recently. Hinton Farm, a 180-lot community with a prime location was sold to McKinley Homes, and Summerwind a 277-lot community in Dacula was sold to Forestar Group, Inc., the development arm of DR Horton. Jacobi bought the tract of land as investment, reworked the entitlements, and held the property until the timing was right for a sale.
Parkland Communities recently completed developing 48 lots in Huntleigh Chase, a new community in Paulding County for DR Horton.
