Economic Development Expert Tapped to Lead Georgia Transportation Alliance

The Georgia Transportation Alliance, an affiliate of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, selected Georgia economic development veteran Joseph Santoro to serve as the new Executive Director of the Georgia Transportation Alliance. Joseph comes to the Georgia Transportation Alliance after a successful four-year tenure with the Council for Quality Growth and starts his new position on December 6.   

Joseph Santoro, Executive Director of the Georgia Transportation Alliance said:  

“I look forward to joining the Georgia Transportation Alliance team to continue advancing the mission of the Board leadership on identifying and promoting long-term transportation solutions to modernize and expand Georgia’s multimodal transportation system. The state’s transportation system fosters economic development, job creation, and enhances the quality of life for Georgia families.”  

Prior to joining the Georgia Transportation Alliance, Joseph worked as the Director of Policy & Government Affairs for the Council for Quality Growth. Over the last four years, he worked on local, regional, and state policies related to infrastructure planning, legislative initiatives, regulatory issues, land use, transportation, and environmental planning impacting the development and growth industry.  Joseph has over 10 years of government affairs experience working for membership-based organizations in metro Atlanta evaluating local, state, and federal policy priorities and setting forth recommended pathways to successfully advocate on behalf of the Board leadership and membership. Joseph earned a B.S. in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Joseph has been a Georgia Chamber Government Affairs Committee member since 2014 through various roles and is a 2023 graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commission Regional Leadership Institute. Joseph and his wife Kayla live in the City of Atlanta where they recently purchased their first home.
