Dunwoody Nature Center Honors Longtime Volunteer Donna Burt on Her 90th Birthday

The Dunwoody Nature Center is proud to celebrate the 90th birthday of Donna Burt, a beloved and dedicated supporter who has volunteered with the Center since the early 2000s. A longtime Dunwoody local, Donna’s contributions have left a tangible mark not only on the Nature Center but also on numerous other local organizations, including the Dunwoody Library and the Dunwoody Garden Club. She even was part of the group of hardworking volunteers who planted thousands of trees around Dunwoody after the tornado of 1998. Donna’s love for serving her community shines through in every aspect of her volunteering.

Donna Burt’s commitment to the Dunwoody Nature Center has been recognized through the prestigious Dave Adams Award, which she received in honor of her outstanding service and dedication. This award, named after one of the Nature Center’s most passionate supporters, was given annually during the first 30 years of the Center’s history to individuals who have made significant contributions to the center’s mission of environmental education and conservation.

“My parents were big volunteers, so it comes naturally,” says Donna when asked why she gives so much of her time to her community. “My dedication to the Dunwoody Nature Center comes from spending most of my life in the outdoors, and I want the children to develop the love of nature and the outdoors.”

As Donna reaches this remarkable milestone, the Dunwoody Nature Center and the entire community celebrate her dedication and the countless hours she has spent making Dunwoody a better place. Her contributions serve as an inspiration to all who value community service and environmental preservation.
