30 Day Drive: New Corporate Sponsors Unveiled for First-ever Virtual “Light The Night” Atlanta

With exactly one month to go until The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) hosts its 22nd annual Atlanta Light The Night walk, Bridge Commercial Real Estate CEO Jeff Shaw announced today a 30-day drive targeting new corporate sponsors for a first-ever virtual event that aims to surpass fundraising totals from previous years. Shaw is serving as Corporate Walk Chair for this year’s Light The Night walk, and unveiled a new list of businesses and organizations from across Metro Atlanta that have already signed on to this year’s event.

The announcement comes as LLS pivots to its first-ever virtual programming to prioritize the safety of patients, volunteers and supporters in response to COVID-19, while also continuing vital fundraising efforts. Light The Night has traditionally been held in Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta.

The list of companies joining Bridge Commercial Real Estate as 2020 corporate sponsors include UPS, Associated Credit Union, Northside Hospital, Enterprise Holdings and several more who have donated more than $300,000 to date for this year’s event.

“In a year where many of us are facing darkness and much of life has been put on hold, Atlanta’s business community must rally together to continue our strong Light The Night tradition, even if this event looks different than those of the past,” said Shaw. “As a cancer survivor, I understand firsthand how much every dollar counts when it comes to saving lives and the critical sense of hope Light The Night brings to our community. I extend my sincere gratitude to my colleagues and fellow business leaders who have already joined us in support of the cause. The next 30 days could play a vital role in providing essential services and resources for the most vulnerable in our community, and there is no better time than now to sign on. We look forward to seeing you soon in the virtual VIP tent.”

In his chair position, Shaw is responsible for furthering corporate development and revenue growth for the event. He also focuses on developing a corporate team of fundraising walkers and leverage relationships to secure new corporate support for the walk through the development of the executive committee. For a full list of corporate sponsors who have signed on thus far, click here https://www.lightthenight.org/georgia-south-carolina/article/2020-sponsors-atlanta-ltn

“Thanks to the inspiring leadership and unwavering support from our corporate sponsors, we are confident that over the next 30 days we will see an outpouring of support from this community,” said Amanda Yancey, Executive Director for the Georgia/South Carolina region of LLS. “While we may be cheering on each other from home, we remain united in our common goal to rid the world of blood cancer. We will bring light to the darkness of cancer by honoring and remembering those touched by cancer and by rallying virtually as a community in support of LLS’s mission.”

More than 12,000 people participated in the 2019 Light The Night Walk in Piedmont Park, raising just over $2 million for research and initiatives to find a cure for blood cancer. The final result put Atlanta at the top of the leaderboard in total funds raised for LLS in 2019. Shaw also formerly served as the event’s Vice Chairman for 2019 as well as the Captain of Bridge’s company fundraising team, which offers the real estate firm’s employees to volunteer as part of the Bridge Cares initiative. Bridge has served a corporate sponsor of Light The Night for the last 3 years.
